How much data you'll use in Canada

Half of our travelers in Canada used under 3 GB for the whole trip. But 25% used 8 GB or more, so the plan you need depends on how you use your phone.

How much a whole trip used

Each bar is 1 GB. The darker bar is where the typical trip lands, and the last bar is everyone who used 8 GB or more.

Plan sizes travelers picked

Our take: a 3 GB plan covers the typical trip. If you'll stream, video call every day or share your connection, go for 10 GB: that's what the top quarter used.

Where travelers get stuck, and the fix

From our own support chats. Most setup problems come down to one of these.

Signal but no internet

Usually data roaming is off for the travel eSIM. Turn on Data Roaming for that line only, and pick it as your mobile data line.

Installed it, then deleted it

A deleted eSIM can't be scanned again, so never delete it to reset it. If it's gone, write to us and we'll help you from your account.

The QR code won't scan

Usually the phone is carrier-locked or not eSIM-ready. Check your phone before you fly, or install by entering the code by hand.

Data ran out faster than expected

Photo backups and video autoplay are the usual cause. Turn them off on mobile data, or top up in the app in seconds.

How we measured

Every figure comes from eSIMs bought on Zwitchy and used abroad. We never see what you did online, only how much data your eSIM used.
