Why Zwitchy eSIMs are phones-only
A Zwitchy travel eSIM is a data-only mobile plan provisioned for a phone. When you buy one, we issue an eSIM profile designed to install and activate inside a phone's cellular settings, connect to local partner networks at your destination, and give you data with no roaming bill. It leaves your home SIM and number in place for calls, texts and one-time passcodes.
iPads, tablets and laptops are a different story. Many have no cellular hardware at all, and the ones that do use their own separate mobile plans tied to that device. A phone-provisioned travel plan isn't built to run there, so we don't offer Zwitchy eSIMs for those devices. Rather than pretend otherwise, we point you at the method that actually works, and happens to save you money.

How to turn on your hotspot

- Android (Pixel and most phones): open Settings → Network & internet → Hotspot & tethering → Wi-Fi hotspot and turn it on. See Google's guide: Share a mobile connection on Pixel.
- On your iPad, tablet or laptop: open its Wi-Fi settings, choose your phone's hotspot name, and enter the password. It's now online through your Zwitchy plan.
Two quick tips. Hotspots use battery quickly, so keep your phone charged or plugged in if several devices lean on it for a while. And laptops and tablets can burn through data fast (big updates, cloud backups and video are the usual culprits) so pause automatic updates and set streaming to a lower quality while you're tethering.
