Bought the wrong plan? An unused, never-activated eSIM can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase. See our refund policy for the full terms.
Fixed data plans give you a set amount of data, for example 1 GB or 5 GB, to use at full speed for the whole plan period. When it runs out, you top up or buy again. Pick this if you know roughly how much you'll use.
Unlimited plans have no total data cap for the plan period, but each day includes a high-speed allowance. Once you use that day's allowance, you carry on at a reduced speed. Reduced-speed data has a daily limit too, and if you reach it, data pauses until the allowance resets 24 hours after you activate the eSIM. Pick this for heavier or less predictable use. A fair-use policy applies.
Driving between the US, Canada and Mexico? Canada's travel advice warns that a phone can connect to a foreign network that's stronger than your home one, and a home SIM may then bill roaming fees. This eSIM works in all three countries at one price.
All three countries push emergency warnings straight to phones on local networks: Wireless Emergency Alerts in the US, Alert Ready in Canada, and Mexico's system for earthquakes, hurricanes and floods. Mexico's phone alerts need no credit or internet, and you can't switch them off.
Deserts, mountains and big parks can leave you without signal for hours. Death Valley has no cell service along most park roads, and Parks Canada says coverage isn't reliable in the backcountry. Download maps before you set off and tell someone your route.
One number reaches police, fire and ambulance in all three countries, as the UK's travel advice lists for each.
